A young man was seriously injured when a gondola from a carnival ride truck him on the head. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
Adolfo Dominguez, a 25 year old Mexican national with a summer work visa, was working on a ride called the “The Speed” at the West Virginia State Fair, when he stepped in the path of the ride and was struck in the face. A woman who witnessed the accident described it as traumatic. He was taken to a nearby hospital and was listed in critical condition. He had a surgery to relieve pressure on his brain caused by the facial fracture.
