ATLANTA, GA – The investigation into a jet ski accident that left R&B sensation Usher’s stepson brain dead continues.

Kyle Glover, 11, was floating on an inner tube with an unnamed 15-year-old girl on Lake Lanier in Atlanta on Friday when a jet ski operated by Jeffrey S. Hubbard crashed into them.

The children were both airlifted to a nearby hospital where Kyle remains in critical condition.

Hubbard, 38, a family friend, is being investigated, although charges have not been filed. Glover’s prognosis will determine how the district attorney’s office will proceed.

According to authorities, Glover was hit in the head and was unresponsive when paramedics arrived at the accident scene. The girl sustained a cut to her head and a broken arm.

Police do not believe either drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident.

Glover is the son of Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Foster and Atlanta TV executive Ryan Glover.

Despite having a tumultuous divorce, Usher was by both Foster and her son’s side following the accident, going as far as to charter a plane for Foster, who was out of town at the time of the boating accident.

In the wake of a tragic accident like Glover’s, victims and their families may be left feeling as though nothing can be done to correct the situation, but help is readily available.
