VANCEBURG, KY – Police are currently investigating a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Kentucky 9 and Shelton Drive just before 11 a.m. Wednesday.
According to police, Robert Freeman, of Avon, Ind., was driving a 2006 Ford Budget Rental truck north on Kentucky 9 when he attempted to make a left turn onto Shelton Drive. Freeman drove into the path of a 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by Samuel Hall of Hurricane, W.Va. and the two vehicles collided.
Four of the occupants in the Dodge were transported to area hospitals. Three of the victims were taken to Scioto Memorial in Portsmouth, Ohio, and one was airlifted to St. Mary’s Trauma Center in Huntington, W.Va.
One passenger in the rental truck was transported to Scioto Memorial and later transferred to Columbus, Ohio.
Authorities have yet to release current conditions for the victims and the accident remains under investigation.
