Two-car accident in Louisville claims one life

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – A two-vehicle accident has left one person dead and another seriously injured.

The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in Oldham County in the 5700 block of Hwy. 146. A white Oldsmobile heading eastbound crossed the center line and crashed into a white Dodge van that was traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Oldsmobile, Linda Smith, 64, of Crestwood, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van, William L. Buntyn, 48, was taken to University Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.

The accident caused Highway 146 between Buckner and Crestwood to be shut down until roughly 11 a.m.

The crash is currently under investigation.
