OHIO/PENNSYLVANIA – A tractor-trailer accident on Interstate 80 near the Ohio/Pennsylvania border caused both lanes of the highway to be shut down for three hours following the incident.
The truck accident occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday at mile marker 236 in Hubbard Township. According to police, Piotr J. Burek, 28, of Elmwood Park, Ill., was driving a 2007 tractor-trailer eastbound on I-80 when he veered off the road and overturned down an embankment.
The accident caused two aluminum coils and other freight to fall off the trailer. Authorities shut down both lanes of the Interstate so crews could clean up the debris.
Burek was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control. He was not injured in the accident.
