Knik Glacier, Alaska – A 16-year-old pilot was injured after crashing upon takeoff Sunday evening near Knik Glacier.

Authorities say the accident took place shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday evening. A teenage pilot sustained minor injuries as a Piper Super Cub he was manning crashed during takeoff from a Knik River sand bar. No one else was in the plane.
