Connecticut DUI Boating Accident Leads to One Fatality

ROCKVILLE, Connecticut -  A Middletown man has been charged with manslaughter and operating a boat while under the influence following a fatal accident on Mashapaug Lake in Union.

Police arrested 41-year-old Michael Antol on Friday for his role in the April 21 that killed 40-year-old Richard Franas.

According to authorities, Franas was a passenger aboard a 17-foot power boat that Antol was operating when it ran aground. Franas sustained serious injuries and died four days after the boating accident. Antol only suffered minor injuries.

Antol was scheduled to be arraigned in Rockville Superior Court on Friday.

Dylan McDermott Finds Peace After Mother’s Death is Reexamined

Dylan McDermott is finally able to attain some peace and closure after asking authorities to reopen an investigation into the death of his mother.

The actor’s mother, Diane, died in 1967 when he was just five years old. Her death was originally ruled as an accident, but thanks to McDermott’s unwavering efforts, the truth surrounding her death was finally revealed.

According to a new investigation by Connecticut police, Diane’s death was ruled a murder. She was killed by her then-boyfriend John Sponza, who lived with McDermott and his mother.

Sponza, who was the only witness to the incident, told police Diane had accidentally shot herself after picking up a gun he had been cleaning. However, McDermott remembered Sponza being extremely violent with both he and his mother.

Sponza himself was shot to death in 1972 and his body was found in the trunk of a car. Police believe Sponza’s ties to organized crime may have contributed to his death.

Charter Bus Crashes in Montana Causing Numerous Injuries

Missoula, MT- Several passengers on a charter bus and another drivers were injured on Tuesday morning following a traffic collision on Highway 93.

According to Montana police, the bus and a full-size pickup truck were both traveling northbound when the truck attempted to make a right turn. The bus then rear ended the truck.

The driver of the bus knew he would not be able to avoid the collision so he turned to the left. The truck driver also veered to the left causing the two vehicles to collide. After striking the truck the bus traveled an additional 50 feet finally coming to a rest in some brush along the side of the road.

Several people on the bus had minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals. The truck driver had serious injuries but is expected to recover.

Police believe that a faulty break light and turn signal are to blame for the accident.

Maine Teenager Killed in Rollover Accident

Albion, ME- A 14 year-old man lost his life last week when he was involved in a rollover accident on an unpaved section of Barnes Road.

The deceased man, Ethan Evers, was riding in a SUV with three other friends ages 15, 16, and 17. Evers was not initially driving, but prior to the accident requested that he be allowed to drive and took over the wheel.

Shortly after Evers began driving, he came to a bend in Barnes Road where he lost control of the SUV. He then veered off the road and the vehicle rolled over landing on its roof. Evers, who was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected from the car.

The other three boys remained in the vehicle during the rollover. They were later treated for minor injuries.

The boys called for rescue around 5 p.m. Evers was being airlifted from the scene, but paramedics pronounced him dead before the craft left the ground.

Police have not stated if they are going to charge the boys for allowing Evers to drive.
