ATLANTA, GA – The investigation into a jet ski accident that left R&B sensation Usher’s stepson brain dead continues.

Kyle Glover, 11, was floating on an inner tube with an unnamed 15-year-old girl on Lake Lanier in Atlanta on Friday when a jet ski operated by Jeffrey S. Hubbard crashed into them.

The children were both airlifted to a nearby hospital where Kyle remains in critical condition.

Hubbard, 38, a family friend, is being investigated, although charges have not been filed. Glover’s prognosis will determine how the district attorney’s office will proceed.

According to authorities, Glover was hit in the head and was unresponsive when paramedics arrived at the accident scene. The girl sustained a cut to her head and a broken arm.

Police do not believe either drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident.

Glover is the son of Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Foster and Atlanta TV executive Ryan Glover.

Despite having a tumultuous divorce, Usher was by both Foster and her son’s side following the accident, going as far as to charter a plane for Foster, who was out of town at the time of the boating accident.

Usher’s Stepson Declared Brain Dead Following Jet Ski Accident

July 9th, 2012    Posted in Accident News

ATLANTA, GA – Usher’s 11-year-old stepson has been declared brain dead after being involved in a jet ski accident Friday.

According to TMZ, Kyle Glover, the son of Usher’s estranged wife Tameka Foster, has been declared brain dead after being hit by a jet ski. He is still on life support and there has been no word on whether his family will take him off.

Glover had been riding an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta when he was hit in the head by a jet ski. He was rushed by air to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta immediately following the incident, but was unresponsive at the scene.

Investigators are still trying to determine what exactly happened. Robin Hill, a representative for the Department of Natural Resources (Wildlife Resources Division), told TMZ the department’s Critical Incident Response Team will recreate the accident using a computer program to determine the individual details of the incident.

Once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the district attorney who will then decide whether or not to file charges.

Although Usher had a bitter divorce from Foster, he chartered a plane for her so she might arrive at the hospital quickly because she was out of town.

Jet ski accidents are extremely dangerous, often resulting in critical injuries like Glover’s. While there may be nothing that can be said or done to mollify a victim or their family’s pain, there is a way to ensure those involved in any type of personal injury incident obtain justice.

If you or a loved one were hurt in a jet ski accident, car crash, malpractice case, or any other incident, contact an accident attorney immediately to file a claim. Accident lawyers will fight for your rights and ensure you obtain compensation for your injuries and/or losses.
