The incident occurred at around 3 p.m. Monday near Remsen. A 17-year-old girl was pinned between a gate and several hay bales that were being moved by a skid loader.

By the time paramedics arrived she had been freed and was then transported to Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Authorities say her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The name of the young victim has yet to be released.

Steven Rasey, 54, a driver for Wisconsin Plastic Drain Tile in Jefferson, was dropping off a drainage tile load at a farm near Jesup, Iowa when his vehicle got stuck in the snow.

He attempted to free the truck using a skid loader and then got caught between the loader and the truck.

The owner of the farm found the victim around 9 a.m. on Monday unconscious. Rasey was then taken to Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, Iowa, where he later died.
