Young Boy Dies After Rescuing Little Girl

FORT WORTH, Texas – A 4-year-old boy has died three days after saving the life of a 3-year-old girl during a swimming pool accident.

Xander Vento was removed from life support by his parents, Cris and Misty Vento after going into a coma.  He had been hospitalized since being removed from a pool Monday afternoon and going into a coma.

Witnesses say Xander and a 3-year-old girl had been swimming in a North Texas neighborhood pool when the little girl began to drown. Xander held her head above water until she was able to get out but grew tired and slipped below the water’s surface.

Xander will always be remembered as a hero.

Mississippi Man in Critical Condition Following Swimming Accident

GEORGE COUNTY, MS – A George County man who was involved in a swimming accident is undergoing hospital treatment after sustaining an injury.

Doctors are trying to save the man’s life after he was injured on Saturday in Plum Bluff Estates in the Basin Community south of Lucedale.

According to officials, the victim, a 20-year-old man, was swimming with a group of friends from church and went under water to tie a rope to a tire but did not surface.

After being pulled out of the water, CPR was performed on the victim and he was airlifted to USA Medical Center where he currently remains in critical condition.

Fourth of July Boat Accident Claims Lives of Three Children

LONG ISLAND, NY  – Three children were killed following a boat accident Wednesday night near Long Island.

According to Nassau County police, the children were found dead inside the cabin of a boat which capsized as it was returning to shore from a fireworks show on the Fourth of July.

Authorities say 24 of the 27 people onboard were rescued, but the victims, a boy and two girls, were trapped inside the cabin as the boat sank near Oyster Bay.

Police have identified the young victims as David Aurelino, 12, Harley Treanor, 11, and Victoria Gaines, 8, of Suffolk County.

The vessel, a 34-foot yacht, was one of over 100 boats that were out on the water for the holiday. The passengers were all friends and family members.

Police don’t yet know what caused the accident.

Five Climbers Killed in Swiss Mountain Accident

GENEVA, Switzerland – Five people died Tuesday following a mountain climbing accident in Switzerland.

The five victims had reached the 4,010-meter (13,155-foot) high Lagginhorn summit, but as they began to descend, something went wrong and the climbers fell several hundred meters down the mountain.

A sixth climber who stopped before reaching the summit alerted the authorities of the accident but all five climbers died instantly.

The victims’ identities have yet to be released pending family notification.

Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the accident.

New Jersey School Bus Accident Leaves 39 Children Wounded

PARSIPPANY, New Jersey — A school bus accident on Interstate 80 in New Jersey has left 39 children injured.

According to state troops, the Thursday accident in Parsippany involved four school buses that were transporting children from a Pennsylvania sports camp.

One of the buses rear-ended another on the highway and it appears as though the collision also led the two other buses to sustain damage.

The school buses were transporting children ages 9 and 10 from Lindenmeyer Sports Camp in Tannersville, Pa., to Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park in Jackson, N.J. There were over 100 passengers on the buses and 39 children sustained non life-threatening injuries.
Authorities explain the wounded children incurred minor cuts and bruises.

The accident is still under investigation.
