Man Involved in Fatal Boat Accident Will not be Charged

PRINCE GEORGE, Virginia – A man who was responsible for a boating accident in Prince George County that claimed the life of a 10-year-old boy will not be charged.
According to a prosecutor handling the accident case, no charges will be filed in the death of the young victim.
Jay Paul, Prince George County commonwealth’s attorney, said that six witnesses told state investigators that the incident was an accident and not the result of negligence or malicious intent.
The incident took place on July 21. The deceased and another boy were riding on an inner tube that was being pulled by a boat on Butterworth Pond when the accident occurred. When the boat’s operator, Patrick Matthews, made a left turn, the inner tube hit the shoreline and the boys sustained serious injuries.
The other boy has yet to be identified.

Victim of ND Workplace Accident Identified

WILLISTON, N.D. – The identity of a Mississippi man who was killed in a construction accident near Williston has been released.
According to authorities, the workplace accident victim was 23-year-old Brandon Woodard. Woodard died Aug. 28 at a Weatherford lodge construction site.
Williston Police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are currently investigating the incident.
Woodard’s father, Keith Woodard, said his son leaves behind a wife and four children, including newborn twins. He explained his son had only been working in North Dakota for a week.

Several People Injured Following Metro Blue Line Crash

LOS ANGELES, CA – Thirty-two people were injured after a Metro Blue Line train crashed on Monday.
The train collided with a transit bus near downtown Los Angeles around 7 a.m. Officials are still investigating what caused the accident.
Originally, 40 people on the bus and eight people on the train were treated for minor injuries, but the total number of victims was downgraded to 32 by officials.
The incident led to roughly 20-minute delays on the Blue Line.

Wynonna Judd’s Husband to Undergo Leg Amputation Surgery

DEADWOOD, SD – According to a report by the Associated Press, country singer Wynonna Judd’s husband Michael “Cactus” Moser will have to have his leg amputated as a result of a severe injury sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Moser’s accident took place on Saturday. He and Judd were riding separate motorcycles in Deadwood, SD when Moser collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Judd explained her husband’s left leg was “severed at the scene of the accident.”
Due to the severity of the wounds, doctors have decided to amputate Moser’s leg below the knee.
Judd, who wed Moser this past June, has decided to postpone her concerts in Canada following the accident.
