Teen charged for causing accident that led two people to be hospitalized

TIVERTON – A Bristol teen has been charged with reckless driving by Tiverton police after being involved in an accident on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred at around 5 p.m. off Main Road. According to police, the 17-year-old driver was operating a black Ford pick-up truck heading north on West Ridge Drive when he crashed into a white Ford pick-up truck that was traveling southbound.
One occupant from each vehicle was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital and Charleton Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The teen driver was not injured in the accident.
Police determined the teen had been speeding around a bend and lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the other pick-up truck.
The teen was taken into custody and charged for the incident.

Single-car Crash in Las Vegas Claims Lives Two Victims

LAS VEGAS, NV – Two people died as a result of a one car accident on Thursday at the Las Vegas Beltway and Cheyenne Avenue interchange.
The incident occurred at around 1:45 a.m., when a white Toyota Camry heading north on Interstate 215 exited the highway onto the Cheyenne Avenue off-ramp while speeding. The driver then ran a red light at the top of the off-ramp and crashed into two concrete walls.
The driver, a 65-year-old female, and a 71-year-old male passenger died on impact. The names of the victims have yet to be released. Authorities are waiting to notify their families.
Officials haven’t disclosed an exact cause for the accident but speeding is most likely a factor.

Colorado car crash leaves one man dead

AURORA, Colorado – A car crash in Aurora on Thursday night has led to the death of one man.
The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. at E. Jewell Ave. and S. Havana Street. According to police, a Nissan Altima was heading north on Havana when it crashed into a Saturn that was trying to turn left turn at Jewell.
The Altima T-boned the Saturn, causing damage to the passenger side of the car. A male passenger in the Saturn had to be extricated from the car. Both he and a female driver were taken to a local hospital where the man later died from his injuries. The driver has been listed in stable in condition.
The driver of the Altima was not seriously injured, and was treated at the scene of the accident.
The crash caused the intersection of E. Jewell Ave. and S. Havana St. to be closed for four hours. Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine if speed or alcohol contributed to the crash.

Oklahoma minister dies following motorcycle accident

SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma – A Sand Springs minister that had disappeared from his home has recently died of injuries from a motorcycle crash.
David Emigh, 58, the pastor of the Word of Life Fellowship in Sand Springs, was driving his 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle around 8 p.m. when he lost control and crashed into a tree. According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Emigh was heading north on Oklahoma 11 roughly five miles north of 156th Street North when the incident occurred.
Emigh was to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, where he died from his injuries on Wednesday. He was last seen at his home on Monday.
Sand Springs Assistant Police Chief Mike Carter said that Emigh’s wife, Sharon Emigh, filed a missing person’s report on her husband at around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
This was not the first time Emigh disappeared, however. On Dec. 15, 2010, he did not come home nor did he appear at his church. A passer-by in Cleveland spotted him two days later behind the wheel of his pickup truck in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
Emigh returned home that day.
Although his family has stated that he was “physically well,” authorities have stated that Emigh had “a medical issue that will be dealt with privately.”
