Two Wrong-way Drivers Cause Several Accidents on Connecticut Highways

HARTFORD, Connecticut — A motorist driving on the wrong side of the highway has caused a three-car crash on Interstate 84 in Hartford, just hours after another driver caused accidents on Interstate 91 in Rocky Hill for driving in the wrong direction.

Troopers say the I-84 accident took place at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday near exits 49 and 50. Richard Asomaning, 24, of New Britain was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway and crashed head-on with another car. As a result, a third car also crashed. Luckily, no one was seriously injured.

Authorities have not said whether Asomaning will be charged for the incident.

The I-91incdient involved another wrong-way driver causing four accidents to take place on the southbound lanes of the highway early Thursday afternoon. The driver’s name has yet to be released and authorities haven’t said if the driver will be charged either.
No one was seriously injured in this accident either.
