Peter Frampton Says Texting Responsible for Car Wreck

August 1st, 2012    Posted in Accident News

CALIFORNIA – Singer-guitarist Peter Frampton is blaming a texting driver for a car accident he was involved in on a Southern California highway.

Frampton claims he suffered neck and back pain from the accident and intends on seeking medical care.

The 62-year-old rocker took to Twitter following the incident, accusing the other driver involved in the accident of texting while driving, which essentially caused the crash to occur.

Frampton says he was sitting in traffic on the highway when a “texting woman driver” rear-ended him.  He added on Twitter that he believes he may have suffered whiplash.

Texting while driving is banned in California. In addition, state law also bans reading text messages as well as reading emails or browsing the web on a smart phone.

Anyone found violating the law can be penalized with up to a $50 fine, plus state and local penalties which could total up to $100.

If in fact the driver responsible for Frampton’s accident was texting, she may be liable to incur penalties and may have to pay Frampton damages. Anyone who has been involved in a similar situation is encouraged to speak to an accident lawyer to determine who is at fault and the maximum possible benefits that can be obtained.

Car accidents, wrongful deaths, workplace injuries, and other personal injury cases are usually the result of someone else’s negligence. Working with an accident attorney will ensure your rights as a victim are upheld and that you obtain the compensation you rightfully deserve.

Whether your accident took place in California or another state, there are many penalties for distracted drivers no matter where you live. Turn to an experienced team of accident lawyers to discuss your options and get started on your case immediately.
