San Bernardino, CA – A rollover accident in San Bernardino has claimed the life of an Adelanto man and has left two children injured.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a rollover accident shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday. The incident occurred on Koala Road, north of Auburn Avenue in Adelanto.
Authorities explain a green 1998 Ford Expedition had been speeding northbound along Koala Road when it rolled into the desert, ejecting Armando Martinez, 25, and two children.
According to witnesses, Martinez was thrown roughly 50 feet away from the vehicle.
Martinez died at the scene of the accident, while the children, ages seven and two, were taken to hospitals in the San Bernardino Valley for treatment. Police report the children were not biologically related to Martinez.
Authorities are investigating the incident, but have yet to find an explanation as to why Martinez veered off the road.
The names of the children have not been released.
