Posted in ORONO, MN – An Oakdale man was killed early June 19 following a two-vehicle crash in Orono.
Bruno Sagnweu, 37, of Oakdale, was driving a 1992 Honda Accord westbound on Highway 12 just before 7 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle near County Road 6.
Sagnweu’s car struck the highway wall and spun out into oncoming traffic, where it was T-boned by a semi truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Sagnweu died in the accident.
The driver of the semi truck was identified as Dale Poirie, 60, of Dassal. Poirie did not appear to have sustained any injuries.
The Minnesota car crash caused Highway 12 near the border of Orono and Long Lake to be shut down in both directions for three hours. Police explain the roadway was wet at the time of the accident, which could have contributed to the incident.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
