Detroit Man Killed in Tubing Accident

MICHIGAN – A Detroit man died following a tubing accident on a lake in Newaygo County.

According to the sheriff’s department, the body of the victim, an 18-year-old man, was discovered on Tuesday evening.

The victim allegedly fell off an inner tube that was being pulled by a personal watercraft on Woodland Lake in Merrill Township.

The victim died at the scene of the accident, roughly 50 miles north of Grand Rapids. He was believed to have been wearing a life preserver, but it fell off at some point during the incident.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
