PLEASANTON, Nebraska – A California man was injured following a farm accident in central Nebraska.

The incident took place northwest of Pleasanton. Paramedics were called to the farm shortly after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday after a 49-year-old man sustained injuries.

According to Buffalo County Sheriff Neil Miller, the victim, Michael Roth, of Highland, Calif., was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney to be treated for broken ribs.

Roth had been helping another man, Jerome Eckhout, in a field when he fell as he was walking behind a tractor driven by Eckhout.

Unable to see Roth on the ground, Eckhout backed the tractor over him by accident.
